Paris!

On the iPod today: Pray for you by Jaron and the long road to love. I love this song it’s so funny and perfect for singing to people. I even have it as my ring tone now.

(please forgive my over use of exclamation marks today I think I got a bit carried away with this post)

I want to go to Paris for my birthday I have decided I want a trip to Paris, maybe not on my actual birthday but when my very lovely parents ask what I want I’m thinking euro star tickets.

(It's true, it does)

I love Paris I really don’t understand these people that moan about it, yes it’s busy and full of tourists, but it is so amazingly beautiful too. I went for a week last year and I didn’t want to come home, I miss it so much. I love the street entertainers and the beautiful buildings. Every where you go in Paris there is something new and interesting to see.

(Paris beach!)

Seeing Eiffel tower at any time of the day is pretty impressive but the way it looks at night is indescribable. I love the parks and the river Seine, walking along the river is enough to make anyone happy!

(Us!)

(Two of my favorite things)

I love the crazy French drivers and the way there is a monument to everything possible on every street corner. I even love the way the French strike at every given opportunity. At least they are standing up for themselves!

I love the grumpy old ladies on the metro that poke the young kids until they give up their seats and the metro itself, I even miss the metro!

And you can’t go to Paris without mentioning the food, the lovely food. Even a quick snack is important in Paris. The bread (oh my god the bread) and of course the wine! And the French love of hot chocolate, not to mention the coffee, it is an art form! I think I should have been born in Paris it obviously agrees with me… (Although maybe not my waist line)

I could go on but I would be here all day, so there you go if anybody fancies giving me a present this year, Euro Star vouchers start at just £5….

(Me! looking so much like a tourist!)

I am the lazy Panda!

Today on the iPod: I think I want to marry you – Bruno Mars not because I plan on getting married again just that this song is so happy and bouncing perfect for walking to the station

Is anybody else really, really tired?

The last few weeks I seem to be constantly tired and I am wondering if it’s me or maybe something external like the weather.

I think maybe its mental exhaustion I have 2 more exams coming, one at the end of September and one at the start of October and I have been putting all my energy in to that. I am not worrying about the fact that I am getting nothing (and I mean nothing you should see the piles of washing in my bathroom) else done. But I seem to be less tired when I’m doing more. Days when I’m constantly running around and I don’t stop I’m tired at bed time but full of energy during the day.

Maybe I need another Red Bull….

This Panda is exactly how I feel every little step is a struggle…

Parking Wars

Today on the iPod: No music today my Spanish coursework mp4s instead as I have more exams on the way…

I know one of the things on my list is to learn to drive a manual car again before I’m 30. I don’t necessarily need to get one just want to remind myself that I can do it. I have been walking a lot more lately, (trying to be fit). But recently when ever I drive I seem to come across ridiculous people that makes me wonder how they are still alive.

I won’t get started on all the crazy driving I have seen but I would like to moan a little about parking nutters!

The first lot of parking nutters are those that think they can reserve a parking space with some cones they have stolen from some road works somewhere. My brother lives right next to the railway station, which is very handy I get there and park my car in front of his house. A while ago someone decided they didn’t like this and started to put out cones to stop me parking there. Stupid people actually thought I couldn’t park there if they put their (stolen) cones in my way. So I just got out of the car moved them onto the pavement and parked there anyway. This obviously annoyed the cone warriors because the next time they put the cones out but strung a piece of string around the cones to mark the space. This was starting to really bug me I am usually in a rush in the mornings and I don’t have time to keep moving your stupid cones. So I called the council and told them where some of their missing cones could be found and the next day the cones were gone (I’m a good citizen lol) So now that Mr (or Mrs) parking Nazi doesn’t have cones to use they have taken to leaving notes on my windscreen ‘Do not park here, signed the residents’ really? The residents? Well the resident whose house I am in front of doesn’t seem to have a problem he was the one who originally suggested it! So I’ve made my own note for my dash board it says ‘YOU DO NOT OWN THE ROAD! IF YOU WISH TO DISCUSS LEAVE YOUR HOUSE NUMBER AND I WILL KNOCK’  surprisingly the notes have stopped…..

Ok the other type of crazy I had a run in with recently was when I went to visit my friend who lives in a converted fire station. At the front of the fire station is a court yard with parking spaces numbered to correspond with the flats where people live. My friend live in flat 1 so her spot is between the wall and number 2, she doesn’t drive so her spot is usually empty. The other day I got there and parked spent some time with my friend, but when I came to leave found some mentalist had parked directly behind me blocking me in. Not only blocking me in but also blocking the road because his car was half out onto the road. We had to ring all the neighbours to find out who the car belonged to and when we finally got him, he was rude and angry that we wanted him to move his car. The conversation went:

Mr ‘shouldn’t be allowed on the road’: but I always park there
Me: But, this is not your parking space
Mr: yes it is, I always park here
Me: do you see those big numbers painted on the wall?
Mr: yes
Me: see the one above my car that says flat 1
Mr: yes
Me: what flat do you live in:
Mr: 17
Me: Well do you think it’s your parking space?
Mr: yes I always park there
Me: even if you do, why do you think it’s acceptable to block me in? Just move your car I want to go home
Mr: don’t talk to me like that
This was when I got fed up and got into my car and started the engine, when my reverse lights came on he changed his mind, but with a lot of hissing under his breath and as I pulled away I saw him pull back into the space that has the big 1 above it. You would think being able to count would be a prerequisite for a driving licence…

The best shop ever!

On my iPod today: Rockstar by Nickleback. Very good to listen to when walking, I swear just hearing it helps burn calories.

Before I get into this post I would like to mention that, this is not my shop but I am very fond of the person who owns it, however, the fact that it is owned by someone so lovely is not the only reason, it has to be the most wonderful place to shop!

You know how some shops you go in and you don’t want to leave? Well this place is one of them I love just being in there, it smells great, it is all pretty in there are and there are butterflies everywhere! What else could a girl want?

This is just a lovely shop it has the best soaps ever!  Jelly babies, Lego men, doughnuts and loads of others, they all smell like you could to eat them!

Personalised cards! I know there are certain other sites that are much bigger but these cards are so sweet and nice I think they are the best.

You have to have a look at the hand made wrapping paper, its great quality and you wont find it for this price anywhere else, believe me I’ve looked!

And saving the best till last: The scented candles. I love all the scented candles in That Card Shop but the fresh linen are my favourite, they make your whole house smell like clean laundry and it is like living inside a clean bed! I know some people wouldn’t want to live in bed but to me that’s heaven!)

So there you go, please go have a look at this wonderful shop www.thatcardshop.co.uk xx

Remembering

On the iPod today: Everything Changes –Take That. Because Take That do rule the world!

Today is July the 7th six years ago today London was hit my suicide bombers and 52 innocent people were killed. It is still shocking today and my thoughts are with the families of those hurt and killed.

So in memory of those that were senselessly killed:

Plans for July

  • Sort out the child’s junk – again nope

  • Go and see my neighbour – well I texted her does that count? NO

  • Replace all my light bulbs (even the lamps) – I replaced the ones in the kitchen but apart from that no

  • Get the back gate fixed – YEAH!!!! I did this I actually got the guy around and got the gate fixed!

  • Go roller disco-ing – yeah right!

  • Get my shoes heeled – erm…. No

Ok not a great score
