Planning Ahead! Saint Patrick's Day!

I realise I'm really planning ahead with this one!  It is still January, I know (how can it still be January?!! Does this month never end?) but I wanted to get a Saint Patrick's Day resource made. I have just finished it and I really love it! I want it to be March already!

Saint Patrick's day is such a fun celebration. There is a real focus on having fun and wanting the best and luck for others, which to me seems like the best reason to celebrate! With this resource I tried to cover as much as I could without being over the top. There is information on the Saint himself and his day, I've explored the ways that people celebrate around the world.

I also include a section on Irish leprechauns just for fun :)

The PowerPoint is really colourful and has many details, it has 36 slides to keep the kids entertained. To go along with the PowerPoint I have made some worksheets with matching activities for the children to embed their knowledge.

Like I said I am really pleased with this resource and if you would like to check it out yourself you can find it in my store!

Thanks for reading!

Five for Friday 27/01/17

Here is my very first 5 for Friday of 2017! Thanks to doodlebugs and her weekly linky party. Where I let you all know the  5 important things I have been up to this week.

Here are the five things I have been up to this week:

Preparing and getting excited for the London Teacher-Author meet up tomorrow! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and having some fun! It should be great!

There are still another 2 weeks to go until half term and I am feeling the teacher blues this week. Some times it feels like leadership team, parents, even the kids and the weather are against you. I need to remind myself on occasion to step back. Other people's opinions and judgements of me are theirs and none of my business. I choose to be happy!

I'm all about products this month I decided so marketing has taken a bit of a backseat. I am really focussing on building my resources bank up and next month is going to be all about the promotion. With this in mind I have created my ultimate promotion list 101 things to do to market your products right now! I love it already!

I have been trying, not very successfully to organise my working hours. I spend much too much of my life working and while I love what I do, I do need a shut off point! I have decided to limit myself to not working past 7pm, not working on Sundays and really making an effort to turn off from work... Easier said than done!

And finally this week I have been really missing my baby. My little girl is off at university and I miss her so much! It is strange when she is home she spends most of time in her room but now she isn't here the house feels empty! At least she comes home to visit. I love her so much and I am so proud of the little grown up she is becoming!

Calling all resource sellers in and around London

I love connecting with other sellers and sharing ideas and advice, with this in mind I thought it would be great if we could all get together and have a coffee (or something stronger) and share our great knowledge!

So I have set up a free meet up event for teacher-sellers in Victoria, London on the 28th January.

If you would love to drop in that would be great. I have created an event on Eventbrite for 2 reasons - firstly so we can see who else is going and register interest (or if it will be just me in the pub alone) and secondly because I have started using Eventbrite for my events and I am enjoying playing with it!

So hop over and let me know you are coming. Can't wait to see you all!

Rainforest Lessons

So it's a brand new year! My first topic this term is the rainforest this is such a wide and fun topic there is so much to teach about the rainforest and so many fun lessons we can have. In preparation for the term ahead I have created a series of rainforest lessons and uploaded them as products in my store.

I do like my products to be complete, so each lesson has a detailed lesson plan each with starter, input, independent work, plenary, assessment opportunities, a learning objective and resources.

To allow the children to really engage with the lessons each lesson has a detailed PowerPoint. I believe that even older children can benefit from detailed explanations and pictures.

In my lessons I like to keep the activities different and interesting, my learners very quickly become bored. I like to keep the children involved in their learning so each lesson has fun worksheets or activities to keep their interest up!

It is also really important to me to differentiate so I make sure my lesson allows children the chance to engage with the lesson at the correct level, each lesson activity is differentiated appropriately.

Overall I am really pleased with my lessons, if you feel like checking them out they are available here and here

Thanks guys :)
